Scientists test stem cell patch to restore vision in failing eyes

NCT ID NCT07418177

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether transplanting lab-grown retinal cells into the eye is safe and might help improve vision in people with late-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It will involve 9 participants with significant vision loss to first check for safety and then look for any signs of vision improvement. The goal is to see if these transplanted cells can help control the disease and potentially preserve or restore some sight.
