First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a stellate ganglion block—an injection of anesthetic near nerves in the neck—can reduce PTSD symptoms and change brain activity. 79 adults with chronic PTSD will receive either the real injection or a placebo (saline). Brain scans and symptom checklists before and after the procedure will show if the treatment works.
