First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether a targeted injection of numbing medicine near a nerve cluster in the neck (stellate ganglion block) can reduce PTSD symptoms. About 79 adults with chronic PTSD will receive either the real injection or a placebo (salt water). Researchers will measure changes in brain activity and stress responses using brain scans and symptom checklists before and after the procedure.
