First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a nerve block injection in the neck can help reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). About 79 adults with chronic PTSD will receive either the nerve block or a placebo (salt water) injection. Researchers will measure changes in brain activity and stress responses using brain scans and questionnaires to see if the treatment calms the body's overactive stress system.
