First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested a nerve block injection (stellate ganglion block) for people with fibromyalgia whose pain wasn't helped enough by standard medication. 68 adults on duloxetine received either the real injection or a fake (sham) procedure. The goal was to see if the injection could reduce pain and improve daily function more than the sham.
