First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a statin (a common cholesterol-lowering drug) to standard treatment can reduce airway inflammation and improve breathing in people with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 80 adults with COPD took part. Researchers measured blood markers of inflammation and lung function to see if statins made a difference.
