Head-to-Head test: which cholesterol pill best prevents second strokes?

NCT ID NCT06358313

Summary

This study aims to see if adding either atorvastatin or rosuvastatin (two common cholesterol-lowering drugs) to standard blood-thinning medication in the first day after a stroke better prevents a second stroke. It will involve 600 adults who have just had their first moderate-to-severe ischemic stroke and cannot receive the standard clot-busting drug. Researchers will compare which drug combination leads to fewer new strokes and better recovery over 90 days.
