First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether it is safe and helpful to stop taking statins (cholesterol-lowering drugs) in people with advanced cancer who are receiving palliative care. Statins are often continued even when they may no longer be needed, causing side effects like muscle weakness and fatigue. The study will follow 80 participants for 12 weeks to measure changes in cholesterol, muscle strength, fatigue, and quality of life after stopping statins.
