Summary
This study aims to understand how Staphylococcus aureus bacteria interact with human cells to cause infections, especially in the spine. Researchers will use tonsil tissue discarded after routine tonsillectomies to create lab models. About 500 participants aged 2 and older who are scheduled for tonsil removal will provide a nasal swab and allow their tonsil tissue to be used for research.
