Shower vs. toilet: can standing ease Post-Surgery urination?
NCT ID NCT07372547
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether standing in the shower to urinate, instead of sitting on a toilet, can reduce pain and help women empty their bladder more fully after having a urinary catheter removed following vaginal surgery. About 100 adult women will be randomly assigned to one of two positions. The goal is to see if standing lowers the chance of needing a catheter again or developing a urinary tract infection.
