Does playing one sport too young wreck Kids' hips?

NCT ID NCT03891563

Summary

This study aims to understand if focusing intensely on a single sport during early adolescence (ages 12-14) causes a painful hip condition called femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). Researchers will follow 201 young athletes for two years, tracking their sports activities and using MRI scans to monitor their hip development. The goal is to identify risk factors and inform future prevention strategies, not to provide treatment.
