New artery chemo method may boost survival in hard-to-treat pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT07497204

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 people with advanced pancreatic body or tail cancer that couldn't be removed by surgery. It compared a targeted treatment called splenic artery infusion chemotherapy (SAIC), which delivers chemo directly to the tumor's blood supply, with standard chemo given through a vein. The goal was to see if SAIC could improve survival and reduce side effects. Results may offer a new option for managing this aggressive cancer.
