Seaweed supplement trial aims to boost liver recovery after cancer operation
NCT ID NCT07263217
Summary
This study is testing whether taking spirulina tablets can help protect the liver and help it heal faster after surgery to remove part of it for bile duct cancer. Researchers will give 30 participants either spirulina or a placebo pill for 3 weeks before and 3 weeks after their operation. They will check blood tests, stool samples, and a tiny piece of liver tissue to see if spirulina improves liver function, reduces inflammation, and helps the liver regrow.
