Tiny beads could revolutionize recovery after back surgery

NCT ID NCT07201987

Summary

This study is testing whether placing special antibiotic beads that also release pain medicine directly into the surgical area during spine surgery can help people recover better. Researchers will compare this approach to standard pain treatments to see if it reduces pain, shortens hospital stays, and lowers the need for strong pain pills after surgery. The study will involve 100 adults already scheduled for specific back surgeries.
