New nerve block could slash painkiller use after back surgery

NCT ID NCT07334288

Summary

This study is testing if adding a specific nerve block to standard pain medicine helps people feel better after back surgery. Fifty patients having planned spine surgery will be randomly chosen to get either the new nerve block plus standard care or just standard care alone. The main goal is to see if the nerve block helps patients use fewer strong opioid painkillers in the first day after their operation.
