New pain monitor tested in back surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT07455565
Summary
This study compares two ways to manage pain after elective lower back surgery. Patients will receive either an ultrasound-guided nerve block or standard intravenous pain medications. Researchers will use a special monitor that measures heart rate patterns to objectively assess pain levels, alongside traditional pain rating scales, to see which method provides better pain control with fewer side effects.
