First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at two types of surgery for people with a slipped bone in the lower back that causes leg and back pain. One surgery was a smaller procedure to take pressure off the nerves, and the other was a bigger surgery that also fuses the bones together. The goal was to see if the smaller surgery works just as well. The study included 52 adults over age 50.
