Doctors study how patient position affects breathing during spine surgery

NCT ID NCT02285946

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a special breathing technique used during surgery affects patients' lungs and blood flow when they are lying on their back versus their stomach. Researchers observed 30 adults undergoing major spine surgery to compare the effects. The goal was to gather information to help tailor breathing support during surgery and potentially reduce breathing complications afterward.
