Scientists map how bad backs change the way we walk
NCT ID NCT07309926
Summary
This study aims to understand how different common back and spine problems affect a person's walking pattern and back muscle activity. Researchers will use motion-capture cameras and sensors to measure the walking and muscle signals of 120 older adults who have specific spinal conditions and are scheduled for surgery, comparing them to healthy people. The goal is to create detailed movement 'signatures' for each condition to help guide future personalized physical therapy and rehabilitation plans.
