New back surgery pain block study: ultrasound vs. Surgeon's hands
NCT ID NCT06958718
Summary
This study tested two ways to deliver pain-relieving nerve blocks after spinal fusion surgery. Researchers compared ultrasound-guided injections performed by an anesthesiologist against injections done directly by surgeons during the operation. The goal was to see which method better controls pain while reducing the need for opioid pain medications after surgery.
