Gel tested to stop painful scarring after spine operations
NCT ID NCT07153822
Summary
This study tested a collagen-based gel called Collabarrier®, designed to act as a barrier to prevent painful scar tissue from forming after surgery for a herniated disc or spinal stenosis. It was compared to an existing gel product (Guardix-sol) in 69 adults having their first such back surgery. The main goal was to see if the new gel was at least as good as the existing one at reducing scar tissue seen on MRI scans 6 weeks after surgery.
