Spinal implant offers new hope for stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT07153536

Summary

This study is testing whether a spinal cord stimulation device, when used during physical therapy, can help stroke survivors regain movement in their weakened arm and hand. Twenty adults who had a stroke at least six months ago will receive an implanted device and complete a 6-week physical training program with the stimulation turned on. The main goals are to check if the approach is safe and to see if it improves strength and reduces muscle stiffness beyond what physical therapy alone can achieve.
