Scientists probe spinal cord to map artificial sensations

NCT ID NCT04725006

Summary

This study aimed to understand what kinds of sensations can be created by electrically stimulating nerves in the spinal cord. Researchers planned to work with a small group of people who already had a temporary spinal cord stimulator implanted for pain. They would test different stimulation patterns and ask participants to describe the feelings they experienced, like location and intensity, to gather basic knowledge.
