Zap to the spine may help kids regain hand control

NCT ID NCT06489106

Summary

This small pilot study aims to find the best way to use gentle electrical stimulation on the spine to help children with spinal cord injuries improve their hand grip and control. Researchers will test different stimulation locations and strengths on the neck and lower back in 10 children, and then offer intensive hand training combined with the best stimulation to 4 participants. The goal is to see if this noninvasive approach can help restore some hand function.
