Spinal stimulation trial offers new hope for regaining hand function

NCT ID NCT02313194

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a device implanted near the spinal cord, combined with a specific drug, can help people with severe neck-level spinal cord injuries regain some hand and arm movement. It involves up to 12 participants who are at least one year post-injury and cannot currently grip or move independently. The goal is to see if this combined approach can improve motor function where other treatments have failed.
