Zapping the spine to regain arm control: new hope for spinal injury patients

Summary

This is a small, early-stage study to see if stimulating the spinal cord and brain is safe and can help improve arm and hand function for people with neck-level spinal cord injuries. Researchers will temporarily implant small wires near the neck's spinal cord to deliver electrical pulses and pair this with non-invasive brain stimulation. Over 29 days, they will test if this combination can help restore movement and control.
