25-Year study questions need for major spinal fusion surgery
NCT ID NCT07489508
Summary
This study looked back at 25 years of medical records for 246 older adults with spinal stenosis to compare different surgeries. It aimed to see if a less invasive procedure (decompression) was enough for long-term relief, or if patients ultimately needed a more involved spinal fusion. By analyzing real-world outcomes, researchers hope to identify which patients can avoid the risks of fusion surgery.
