New spinal cage shows promise for back pain relief

Summary
This study tested a special implant (PEEK-OPTIMA™ HA cage) used in spinal fusion surgery for people with degenerative disc disease in the lower back. Twenty-five adults with back pain and spine instability received the implant. The goal was to see how well the bones fused and if pain and quality of life improved.
