New spinal implant aims to help paralyzed patients walk again

NCT ID NCT07139496

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether stimulating the spinal cord in two places—at the injury site and in the lower back—can help people with long-term, severe spinal cord injuries regain leg movement and control. Five participants will have a stimulator implanted and undergo a 9-month program of different stimulation patterns combined with physical therapy. The main goal is to see if this dual-site approach improves their ability to stand, step, or walk with assistance.
