Pain-Free zapper: can a new spinal device beat the placebo effect?
NCT ID NCT07468591
Summary
This study aims to find out if a newer type of spinal cord stimulator, which works without causing a tingling sensation, is truly effective for chronic nerve pain or if its benefits are just a strong placebo effect. It will involve 90 people with severe, hard-to-treat pain who are getting the device implanted. Each participant will try both the active device and a placebo setting for six weeks each, with a break in between, to see which one better controls their pain.
