Drug may unlock Brain's ability to relearn walking after spinal injury

NCT ID NCT05217498

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called istradefylline can help people with chronic spinal cord injuries walk better. The drug is designed to boost the benefits of a special low-oxygen breathing therapy combined with walking practice. Researchers will enroll 40 participants to see if this combination improves walking speed, distance, and strength more than the therapy alone.
