First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether combining a robotic exoskeleton (a motorized walking suit) with either surface or implanted spinal cord stimulation could improve walking in 4 men with complete spinal cord injury. Participants used the exoskeleton and received stimulation while walking over 9 months. The goal was to see if this approach could boost walking speed and muscle activity, potentially making rehab easier and more accessible.
