Robots and electric bikes team up to help spinal injury patients walk again
NCT ID NCT06541197
Summary
This study tested whether adding functional electrical stimulation (FES) cycling to standard robotic rehabilitation could improve walking and leg function in people with chronic, incomplete spinal cord injuries. Thirty-eight participants who were at least six months post-injury and could walk at least 10 meters were divided into two groups. One group received the combined therapy, while the other received only robotic rehab, to see which approach led to better recovery of mobility and independence.
