Spinal cord scans reveal hidden damage in neck arthritis patients
NCT ID NCT01243684
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study used a special type of MRI called diffusion tensor imaging to look at the spinal cord structure in 40 adults with cervical spondylosis (neck arthritis). Researchers compared the imaging results with standard clinical tests like muscle strength, reflexes, and hand dexterity. The goal was to better understand how spinal cord changes relate to symptoms, without providing any direct treatment.
