Mental imagery boosts spider fear therapy

NCT ID NCT05424250

Summary

This study tested whether adding occasional mental imagery of feared spider scenarios during a single exposure therapy session could make the treatment more effective for people with spider fear. 67 participants with significant spider fear received either standard therapy or therapy with added mental imagery. Researchers measured fear levels and avoidance behaviors one week later to see which approach worked better.
