Summary
This study tested three drugs (Xenbilox, Tahor, and Resveratrol) in 12 adults with a rare inherited form of spastic paraplegia called SPG5. The goal was to lower levels of harmful oxysterols, which are toxic byproducts of cholesterol that damage nerve cells. Each participant took the drugs in turn for two months, and the researchers measured changes in blood oxysterol levels. The approach aims to control the disease rather than cure it.
