Can plasma infusions mend Sepsis-Damaged blood vessels?

NCT ID NCT07160426

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

Sepsis harms the protective lining of blood vessels, leading to organ failure. This study tests whether giving fresh frozen plasma—either as short bursts or a steady drip—can repair that lining better than a placebo. About 45 ICU patients with sepsis will be enrolled, and researchers will measure blood markers and track organ support needs and survival for up to 90 days.
