Blood test breakthrough? AI reads platelets to sniff out lung cancer

NCT ID NCT07460440

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study will test a new blood test that looks at RNA in platelets (a type of blood cell) using artificial intelligence to see if it can accurately detect lung cancer. Researchers will enroll 240 adults with either a new lung cancer diagnosis or a lung nodule found on imaging. The goal is to see if this test can tell the difference between cancer and non-cancerous nodules, potentially offering a less invasive way to screen for lung cancer.
