First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests a drug called sovateltide in 40 newborns with brain injury from lack of oxygen at birth. The drug aims to help the brain repair itself and reduce the risk of death or long-term disability. Current standard treatment (cooling) has limited success, so researchers hope this adds a new option.
