New targeted drug trial offers hope for untreated lung cancer patients

Summary
This study is testing whether the drug sotorasib is safe and effective as the first treatment for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has a specific KRAS G12C mutation. The trial will enroll 39 adults who haven't received any treatment since their cancer became advanced. Researchers will monitor how well the drug shrinks tumors using regular CT scans.
