First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether having a nurse or pharmacist do the first check for a sore throat can cut down on unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions. About 450 people with sore throats will be checked by a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to see if guidelines are followed better. The goal is to find a smarter way to manage sore throats and reduce antibiotic overuse.
