New cancer drug aims to turn tumors back to normal tissue

Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a new drug called SON-DP in people with advanced solid tumors that have not responded to standard treatments. The drug works by trying to reprogram cancer cells in the body, turning them back into normal tissue cells instead of killing them. The study will first find a safe dose and then test it specifically in patients with advanced liver or stomach cancer.
