NCT ID NCT02916862
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking soluble corn fiber (a type of dietary fiber) for one year could improve bone health in healthy adolescents aged 10-13. About 177 teens were randomly assigned to receive either the fiber supplement, fiber plus calcium, a placebo, or placebo plus calcium. The goal was to see if the fiber could increase bone mineral content, which might help prevent osteoporosis later in life.
