Could 7 days of dual blood thinners be enough for elderly heart patients?

NCT ID NCT07164859

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether older adults (65+) who get a heart stent can safely stop one of their blood thinners (aspirin) after just 7 days instead of taking it for months. The goal is to see if this shorter treatment reduces bleeding risks without raising the chance of heart attacks or strokes. About 1,700 participants will be followed for a year to compare the two approaches.
