Could 7 days of dual blood thinners be enough for elderly heart patients?
NCT ID NCT07164859
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether older adults (65+) who get a heart stent can safely stop one of their blood thinners (aspirin) after just 7 days instead of the usual 3 to 12 months. The goal is to see if this shorter treatment reduces bleeding risks without increasing heart attacks, strokes, or death. About 1,700 participants will be randomly assigned to either the short or standard treatment and followed for one year.
