Simple brace may help kids with cerebral palsy walk better
NCT ID NCT07186036
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a soft back brace that supports the natural curve of the lower back can improve posture, balance, and walking speed in children with cerebral palsy. Twenty-five children aged 6 to 15 with mild to moderate mobility issues will be tested with and without the brace. The goal is to see if this simple device can make daily movement easier.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
soft lumbosacral orthosis (body brace)
What this could lead to
If it works, this brace could help children with cerebral palsy stand steadier, walk faster, and move more easily in daily life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early study with only 25 children, so results may not apply to everyone. The brace might not help all children or could feel uncomfortable.
