First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a measure of gut function to a standard organ failure score can better predict which critically ill patients are at highest risk of dying. Researchers will follow 800 adults in Turkish ICUs, using only routine data—no extra tests or treatments. The goal is to improve how doctors identify high-risk patients and guide care.
