Kidney cyst study may spare thousands from unnecessary surgery

Summary
This study follows 330 adults with complex kidney cysts (Bosniak III or IV) for 5 years to see if simply monitoring them is as safe as surgery. Many of these cysts are not cancer, and surgery carries serious risks. The goal is to find out whether active surveillance can prevent overtreatment without harming patients.
