NCT ID NCT04479475
Summary
This study tested a counseling program that involves the family and friends of people receiving treatment for opioid addiction and HIV in Tanzania. The goal was to see if this social support approach is practical and acceptable for helping patients stay in their methadone treatment program and take their HIV medications consistently. The small pilot involved 20 patients and up to 60 of their chosen support people over several counseling sessions.
