Can a pill block the comfort of a loved One's face?
NCT ID NCT04166071
Summary
This UCLA study aims to understand how thinking of a supportive person helps us overcome fear. Researchers will give 60 healthy adults either a drug (naltrexone) or a placebo pill, then see if it changes how well a picture of a loved one helps them learn that a previously scary cue is now safe. The goal is to learn about the brain's fear and social support systems, not to treat a condition.
