New study uses social media to teach safe sleep for preterm infants

NCT ID NCT07420686

First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether teaching safe sleep practices to mothers of preterm babies—through hospital programs and social media messages—can reduce the risk of sudden infant death. About 1,600 mothers will take part, with some getting safe sleep training and others getting reading tips for comparison. The goal is to help more babies sleep safely on their backs, in a crib, without loose bedding.
